Governments are setting ambitious targets in line with the Paris agreement and consumers are demanding more focus and transparency of companies in decreasing their environmental footprint. Moreover, topics like human rights, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing are on top of the governments and companies’ agenda, making sustainability a complex and strategic topic for our clients.


At BearingPoint we are supporting our clients in defining clear corporate sustainability strategies and setting up the measurement systems and governance to ensure they are ready to achieve their ambitions. For example, we have developed a state-of-the-art emission calculator to provide our clients with an overall picture of their corporate carbon footprint, as well as detailed insights to reduce it.


Your role

As consultant corporate sustainability and strategy, you lead/are part of a multidisciplinary team on challenging (sustainability) assignments, within a wide range of clients in various industries like Consumer Goods & Retail, Energy, Utilities, Postal, Telecommunications, Pharmaceutical. As a team you deliver complex projects that support our clients in realizing their sustainability ambitions.

We are looking for starters and professionals with experience in sustainability and/or management consultancy and/or have an industry background within the field of sustainability.


Your responsibilities

  • Delivery of projects for our clients, from (sustainability) strategy design to transformation management, to calculating the corporate carbon footprint – this includes responsibilities like conducting analysis, facilitating workshops, collecting, and processing large amounts of data, turning analysis into insights, project & stakeholder management, creating (senior) management presentations, etc.
  • Proactively thinking with clients about business strategies, development and integration of innovative concepts and technology and transformation plans
  • Managing senior client stakeholder relationships
  • Signaling and acting upon the needs of the clients and translate these into projects
  • Actively updating yourself with new developments and innovations in the field of sustainability
  • Leading/contributing to the development of new propositions in the field of sustainability to increase and improve our sustainability offerings portfolio
  • Contribute to developing activities for our growing practice within the European BearingPoint network

Requirements

Qualifications;

  • A relevant Master’s degree, preferably (corporate) sustainability related, or with a technical and/or (organizational) business / energy focus
  • Interest in corporate sustainability and what this means for our clients
  • Strong analytical skills and numerical understanding
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent communicative skills in Dutch and English (written and oral)
  • 2 - 5 years proven and relevant work experience in a similar role as a (internal or external) consultant or relevant business function
  • Preferred candidates have experience on topics such as:
  • Corporate sustainability
  • The current socio-environmental challenges businesses face (e.g. climate change, biodiversity, diversity and inclusion, resource and waste management etc.)
  • ESG frameworks
  • Greenhouse gas accounting
  • Sustainable business strategies
  • Sustainable development goals
  • Change management
